Red Beret Hotel
The Red Beret Hotel, located on the corner of Kamerunga and Intake RoadsRedlynch, was built in the early 1900’s. Originally called the RedlynchHotel, the former owner Max Gorman renamed the hotel The Red Beret after hisregiment in the Australian Army. Today it’s often referred to as the RedHat or just The Hat by the many locals who enjoy the friendly atmosphere andthe cold beer.The Hotel has undergone a refurbishment, as old Queenslanders need from timeto time, but whilst the façade and some of the amenity has changed, astrong emphasis has also been placed on ensuring that the feel of the hotelhasn’t been lost. The Public Bar is home to our history wall featuringearly cane cutters from the Redlynch area and shots of the very first hotelin Redlynch, The Terminus Hotel. The hotel doubled as the railway house onthe other side of the Kuranda Railway track before burning down and beingreplaced by the Redlynch Hotel, which is now known as the Red Beret.Today, the Red Beret Hotel includes a Public/Sports Bar, Gaming Room, TheDeck Bistro
