HanYou

HanYou allows you to instantaneously translate Chinese characters and text into English using the Camera on your device in real-time. The app displays a pop up window containing English translations of single kanjis and entire words as soon as you point the camera to Chinese characters with your iPhone or iPad. HanYou also allows you to take a picture or pick one from your camera roll and navigate over it to translate selected characters and words. Finally, it is also possible to recognize Chinese characters after drawing them manually in HanYou. HanYou works offline. Tips / Features - translate all types of Chinese characters (simplified, traditional) into English - translate Chinese characters with the live camera or from your camera roll pictures - freeze the camera frame with the \\Freeze\\ button and navigate through the picture by dragging the cursor - tap to focus, zoom by pinching and move the picture and/or the cursor by dragging - copy the recognized characters with a long press gesture for subsequent use - read either horizontal or vertical text and characters - manually draw characters on your screen, recognize and translate them HanYou is the sister-app of its Japanese counterpart Yomiwa.
