“Grains” is a social application aimed at reducing the ongoing food wastage in the world. The application captures three main areas – Personal dashboard, Knowledge and Encouragement. Personal dashboard: A space where you can track your daily food wastage, slowly become aware of this trend and eventually bring it down to almost zero. Need more action? Take up our challenge and see if you can go 100 days without wasting food. Game on! Knowledge: Discuss an issue, applaud the portion size of a restaurant or simply give thumbs up to a new initiative - the knowledge section is where the world comes together. Refer to recipes, tips and hints shared by others on the application and watch your personal food wastage drop down like never before. Encouragement: What’s life without a little “pat on the back”? Encourage others for their effort – comment, like or simply share on other social platforms. Further, ask questions, answer queries and let “the one who tries” know that you support and appreciate his/her effort. Curbing food wastage doesn’t really need fancy regulations or hefty funds.
