白板IS-8 很优秀但对不起IS5你是个好人

  　　Helloeveryone,　　today,anewSoviettier8heavypremiumtankisgettingintroducedtothesupertest–it’scalledIS-5(Object730)andhere’sashortpreviewofitshistoryandhowit’sgoingtolook.　　Object730(alsoknownunderitsIS-5designation)wasaSovietheavytankandaprecursortothelaterdesignknownastheIS-8(orT-10).Toavoidconfusion:thereweretwoIS-5tanksactually.OnewasamodifiedIS-2(alsoknownasObject248),theotheristhisone.　　Thedevelopmentofthisvehiclestartedinlate1948.Thegoalwasnothinglessthancompleteoverhaul(modernization)oftheIS-4heavytankinordertoincreaseitsperformance.Thedesignersofthevehicle(Chelyabinskplant)proposedtoreplaceanumberofinternalcomponentsandtomaketheentirevehicleweighless(specifically,tolowertheweightfromIS-4′s60tonsto50tons.This“slimming”,alongwiththeuseofmodernizedenginewastoassurebettercombatcharacteristics.　　TheearlyvariantofObject730wasdevelopedinSpring1949bytheChelyabinskTractorPlant(ChTZ)byateamledbyZh.J.Kotin.ItwasquitedifferentfromtheoriginalIS-4,especiallytheturretwasreworkedtoimplementthelessonslearnedduringtheIS-3andIS-7development.Thetransmission,suspensionandloadingmechanismwereupdatedaswell,thecombatandenginecompartmentsalsounderwentcompleteoverhaul.ThenewmodernizedturretwascastwithvariablethicknessandwasfittedwiththeclassicD-25Tguninanewmount,thatwassturdierandalsoeasiertofixandinstall.Thegunwasfittedwithnewelectromechanicalshellloadingassistantforhigherrateoffire.　　InearlyApril1949,thefullsetofdocumentsalongwithawoodenmock-upwassenttoMoscow.There,therepresentativesofthearmyandtheindustrycheckeditoutandmadealistofrequiredimprovementstothedesign.ThedesignwasupdatedasaresultandinMay1949,itwasapproved.Afterthat,thedesignersstartedworkingonassemblydocumentsforthemostdifficulttoproducecomponentsfirst,astheproductionofanewtanktookasignificantefforttoorganize.ThedocumentswerereadyinlateJune1949.　　TheassemblyoftheprototypeswasdelayedhoweveranditwasdecidedtousemodifiedIS-4vehiclesasprototypesinstead.Inordertomeetthetestingdeadline(whichwasAugust1949),thedesignerstooktwoIS-4tanksandreducedtheirweightto50tonsbyremovingtheturretsandusingmockupweightblocksinstead.TheV-12engineintheprototypesproduced700horsepower,thestronger,modifiedV-12-5appearedonlylater.AwholesetofmodulesforthefutureObject730wasalsotestedontheIS-7prototypes,modifiedforthistask.Andsowasthesummerof1949filledwithtestingofvariouscomponentsofthevehicleinvariousways.　　ThefirstrealhullofthetrueObject730wasreadyon30.7.1949,secondhullarrivedon9.8.1949inChelyabinsk.Atthispoint,theassemblyofbothtankswasfurtherdelayed,assomeofthecomponentswerestillnotdevelopedproperlyorwerestillbeingtested.Nevertheless,thefirstprototypewasreadyinmid-September1949.Thefirstprototypesstillhadanolderenginecoolingmodeland6-gearplanetarytransmission.　　Bothvehicleswerefactory-trialedinSeptember1949,butthesetrialsendedinfailure,specificallythetransmissionprovedtobeproblematic.Asaresult,itwasdecidedtouseadifferent,8-gearplanetarytransmission.Boththe6-gearandthenewlydesigned8-gearoneweretestedagainstoneanotherandthetestshowedthesuperiorityofthenewdesign.Thischange(alongwithseveralothers)wereimplementedintotheObject730projectbytheendof1949.AnewiterationofObject730documentsappearedinJanuary1950withthis(andotherchanges)alreadyimplemented.　　InMarch1950,threemore(alreadyimproved)prototypeswerebuiltandinmid-April1950,theprototypesunderwentseriesofdifficulttrials.Theresultswerepositiveandallthreeprototypesfulfilledtherequirements.Thevehicleswerejudgedtobemorereliablethanothercontemporarymediumtanksandtherewasroomformodernizationaswell.Moretrialsfollowedandinsummer1950,theprojectwaspolishedand10vehicleswerebuilt.Theseweresenttovarioussitesformilitarytrialsanddespitesomeshortcomingsofthesuspension,theyagainpassedthemsuccessfully.　　Despitethesesuccesseshowever,thetankwasnotacceptedinservice,asbytheendof1950,anewlistofrequirementsfortheprojectwasissuedbytheartyandtheministryoftransportation.Thisnewlistrequiredasignificantoverhaul,whichwouldeventuallytakeyearstocompleteandbytheend,thevehiclewouldrecieveanewdesignation,theIS-8.ItwouldeventuallybeacceptedinserviceastheT-10in1953.EventhoughtheObject730(IS-5)wasnotmass-produced,itallowedthedevelopmentofvariousmoderncomponents,laterusedfortheIS-8tank.　　Iningameterms,itshouldbesomethinglikeIS-8withstockengineandgun.
